ON AN AIRPLANE!!!!! (Apparently it’s like five days faster than a hot air balloon?)
This trip is mainly about going to the premier of After Earth, the new Will Smith–Jaiden Smith–M.Night Shyamalan disaster film (‘filmed disaster’? ‘catastrophe film’? ‘catastrophe’?), but we’re going to play a couple of shows, too, because show-playing is like breathing for us—automatic, life-giving, difficult when there’s too much smoke. There’s one in Costa Mesa, a town, on May 30th; and then there’s one in Pasadena at this free festival called “Make Music Pasadena” on June 1—other acts include Yacht and Tanlines, so bring your dancing shoes, not to mention sunglasses and some money for lunch. And then of course on May 31 we have the After Earth premier. (Look for us in the pages of People Magazine the following week! Nothing? Did you check the cover?)
